![]() Do this using adjustment layers and smart objects so that the original rendered layer is not altered but the composite view of all the adjustments creates the image you want to see. So you could turn far distant objects bluer (just as in nature), you could blur distant objects (to simulate depth of field). Effectively you use it as a mask to control effects or adjustments on the 2D rendered image, based on how far away from the camera each pixel in the scene represents. You can though use that output depth map, either as it is or with further tweaking, to control a filter or an adjustment layer applied to the rendered image. That would output a new depth map because objects in the scene have moved. Duik Angela (free) Im also learning Limber right now. This allows me to upload image to Facebook as '3d photos', IE. Ray Dynamic Color (global color controls) Flow (value graph editor + presets) Boombox for sound design (mainly used in Premiere) There are more specific areas of After Effects where third-party tools are essential to my workflow: Character Animation. From what I understand this embeds a depth map into the image for later manipulation. ![]() Lenscare is available as plugins for Adobe After Effects and Photoshop compatible programs. It only changes if you move objects around in the scene and re-render. Here we’ll focus on what the best practices for depth maps are - meaning, how to capture and convert standard images, or RGBs, into RGB-Ds, how to tell what images and photos will create a good depth map, and how to compare the results on a Looking Glass Display. Hi all, Ive recently purchased a Samsung S10 mobile phone, which supports the 'live focus' option. Introduction Lenscare moves depth of field and out of focus. It is just a greyscale map representing how close each point in the image is to the camera. Depth of Field is a ‘compound’ effect that can use the pixel values of another layer to feed the amount of blur. Out of Focus is a fixed blur, that applies the same amount of defocus to the whole layer (although it can be animated like a regular blur). Really great results and 1/4 the price of Lenscare. Lenscare consists of two effects: Depth of Field, and Out of Focus. Lenscare is available as plugins for Adobe After Effects and Photoshop compatible programs. I've tried using the blurs that come with AE like Compound Blur and Camera Lens Blur that allow for using a depth map layer, but they both produce unusable results (blooming around edges that should not be getting a blur). Once again - you don't modify the depth map and "reapply" it. Lenscare is great, but a little expensive for me.
